Final Baby Update

The hospital said to come on in and the will squeeze us in. I have no idea what that means but we are showering and packing up! Baby should be here by the end of the night if not tomorrow morning. :) Hope everyone has been able to stay safe, cool and dry!

We will be thinking about you and hope the rest of you get power very soon!

Baby Update

So we just talked to the hospital and we have to call at 6am Monday morning to hopefully take us in by 7am. Not sure exactly why but there are two other people in front of us.

I plan on putting up another post to let everyone know when we are actually leaving.

Hurricane Ike and Baby B

Hurricane Ike has passed but obviously left a lot of damage. Fortunately for us, we do not have any damage, just some loose trees. Our power went out around 7:30PM Friday night and came back on around 6PM Saturday. It was pretty miserable...even our floors were wet from humidity. We took about 2 showers to help stay cool.

My mom and Tatiana (with Lucky and Frijolito) stayed with us last night and will stay with us again tonight since their house does not have power. My dad and David may or may not join us. My parents neighborhood didn't get off so easy. Lots of trees knocked down, fences knocked down and water in the house. That's all the info we have on that right now.

Baby B Update

Thank God I did not go into labor during this time. :) This was the first time I was praying he would stay inside. The early signs of labor have started so I got a little worried but luckily nothing yet. I am scheduled to go to the hospital so that they may induce labor. We will be heading to the hospital Sunday night (we have to call ahead to make sure they have a bed ready and if they don't we keep calling until they do) and that night they will start to give me some medicine to soften my cervix. On Monday if everything goes as planned they will give the pitocin to start the real labor and baby should be here by Monday afternoon. If my cervix does not react to the drugs this could mean baby is too big and they will deliver him by Cesarean. Either way I am just so excited that he will finally be here!

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and prayers during this rough weekend. :) Next post will hopefully have some real pictures of our new son!

Baby B Update and Pictures!

We had a doctor's appointment last Thursday with a specialist and got some more photos, some regular and others 3D.

As of last Thursday, he weighed in at about 6lbs 3oz and the doc said he is a very long big boy with big feet. Everyone did say he looked super cute too, but then again I don't think they would say he is ugly...and if they did they wouldn't be very nice people and their faces would have been slammed up against the wall (the crazy hormonal preggo side of me speaking). Anywho, he has a head full of hair too! Wish I had a picture of that...

Here are his apparently large feet

His profile

And the obvious picture that we are having a boy. The nurses said the baby was having a great time flashing us so there is another "boy" picture below. When he gets older I can see him already saying, "Mooooom, please throw those pictures away!".

Here is a picture looking at his face with the big belly under his chin.

And he IS A BOY! (picture from the rear)

I love this one cause you can see more of his chubby face! I just wish we got the whole thing but it was really hard because he was pretending to be in the Olympics already.

The next two show more of his face but the umbilical cord is in front of this mouth making it look like he already has a mustache.

Overall baby is in good health! However, doc said he would be surprise if he had to see me again in 3 weeks. I'm caring as if I'm full term although I have 5 weeks to go so we are in speed racer mode trying to get everything ready.
SOOOOO EXCITED!!!!

Baby Chiquito is a BOY!!!

Thursday Warren and I went for an ultrasound and we found out that we are having a baby boy! It was by pure accident so...ah well. Now I get to work on the nursery. I still don't know what I want to do yet but at least I have a direction.

As for the story on how we found out:

Warren and I don't like calling the baby "it" so we would go back and forth calling him/her a he/she. Well that day we were calling him a "he" so the doctor assumed we knew since we were "right" about the sex of the baby. So as she is going over my belly with the wand she says, "And yup, still a boy" when she goes over the obvious parts. Warren and I looked at each other and just kind of freaked out without saying anything and then the doc was like, "Oh my gosh! Y'all wanted it to be a surprise! I assumed you found out since you kept calling him a 'he'." She felt really bad and even got a little teary eyed as she told us on our first visit she prefers for it to be a surprise. She kind of flipped out for a little while and we told her it was no big deal. She then told us it was her first time to ever screw that up for a couple as she is usually careful about that. We could tell she wasn't having a good day so we didn't make a big deal out of it. As we were getting ready to leave she tried to make us feel better (not that we were feeling bad, we were all smiles) by telling Warren he is a very well endowed boy. Warren walked out of the docs office with his head up high, quite proud. I couldn't help but laugh.

So we were a little sad about not having it a surprise on the day of but it was still a surprise, even though I had a feeling he was boy. But now we get to focus on boy names and cool boy toys! :)

A Different Addition to our Family

M&M

Close to the beginning of May G-Mom was bestowed with 2 kittens that were about 2 weeks old. Their neighbor found them in a wall of their house. Looks like when they learned to walk they strayed from the mom. G-Mom took them in (with the big heart that she has) and bottle fed them with formula. As young as they were they were a hand full. As soon as they learned how to use the litter box we took them in. You may be asking, "Why would you do that with a baby on the way?!" Well, I also have a big heart for pets and I couldn't stand the thought of a brother and sister being seperated after seeing how close they are to each other. So after crying on and off the whole way to Austin for Warren's birthday, we decided to "adopt" them.

I'm so glad we did. They are so cute and funny, and have even given us a little bit of practice as far as taking care of someone that depends on you. I know its nothing like raising a child but it is a good transition. Since I can't change the litter box my duty is to feed them and of course you know who (Warren) to do the dirty work.

It took us awhile to name them but after Warren noticed the "M" on their foreheads we decided Mimi (charcoal) and Milo (yellow and white) were approporiate. Their personalities are really different...although I would say both of them are more people cats than most I have had or run into. Milo likes to be held and have his belly scratched. Mimi only likes to be held when she hasn't seen you in awhile and then wants to be put down. She is also the picky eater. Milo seems to eat almost everything he can get his teeth into. They both like to follow us around have usually have to be in the same room we are. We try to keep them out of our room (since Warren is allergic...yes I know but he loves them too) but they meow like they are dying until we let them in. We still haven't given in to them at night when we are sleeping but we gave in last week to let them keep us company in the mornings.

Must be the pregnancy but I miss them during the day, they really have put a little extra umf into our lives.

Here is soon-to-be Abuela Bickley making a baby blanket...of course M&M couldn't stand not to be in the middle of it. So she made them their own blanket. :) They love it!

Warren and I have already spoiled them with so many toys...looks like for now they will have their own room in our new house (entry for that coming soon!). Kinda silly but we don't have anything to put in there anyway.

Warren's 27th Birthday

May 30 - June 1

We went out to Warren's favorite place for his big birthday...Lake Travis.
But first Warren's birthday present from yours truly...a new golf bag! :)
So we headed out to a cove and everyone (but me of course) got to jump out off the rocks.
Warren checking out the drop...
Awwwwe, how cute...Ryan and Jenn
and Ryan...looks like it was cold ;)
I love this one of Warren just chilling...
That weekend was actually Kyle (Jenn's brother) and Ruth's (Bickley family friend) birthday. Jenn made an awesome cake...Dr. Pepper cake! It was delicous!
And me with the birthday boy
On Sunday we headed out wake boarding. Here are some of the crew doing their jumps. I mainly got Ryan cause he was the easiest to shoot.
I only got one of Warren cause I was on a different boat so it was a lot harder to take pictures.
For those of you that wanted to see a bigger belly...sorry but I looked like a beach whale since the only swimsuit I had were the ones from our honeymoon...not cute when combined with the new belly!
